Up Helly Aa is one of the most fantastic festivals you will see! Bold statement I know, but there is nothing quite like it. In Shetland there are 12 different festivals that take place over winter, watching 1000's of people from across the isles come together to celebrate something with so much meaning to them. My favourite part of it all though is the flames parading through the streets at night. The colours are out of this world! I decided to knit up a hat that was inspired by the beauty of the flames in the night sky, using bright reds, oranges and yellow; creating the perfect glow of fire.
