Christmas Craft Fair 2019

I'm a bit late in posting this, I have been very busy finishing my many Christmas orders, so I can only apologize. I was lucky enough to have a stall at the Christmas craft fair (my first year may I add!!) and it was such an exciting and lovely experience. I had the opportunity to meet lots of other local designers and artists, from newcomers to the experienced traders. It's so amazing getting the chance to bounce ideas off of other creative minds and get expert tips and advice.

I decided to launch lots of new products at my first fair, from lace baubles to knitting patterns. However the design I was most excited about launching was my Up Helly Aa Hat (middle left photo). I had designed a pair of wrist warmers last year for the festival and I knew I wanted to add something to the collection. I carried the motif from the wrist warmers into the hat, but when it came to the crown I had to improvise; making it up as I went, I ended up with a star silhouette which I hope everyone loves as much as I do! I had so many wonderful comments about the design as well as lots of orders for it. Thank you to everyone who showed interest, it means a lot to have people admire your work; and I am hoping to have the pattern available to buy soon on my website.

I had very little expectations before heading to the craft fair, I was just hoping I would sell a few patterns. I have never been so wrong and so overwhelmed. The amount of interest I got in my business was unreal. I still get emotional thinking about it, I cannot thank you all enough for the support and confidence boost you have given me. I put a lot of work and time into getting ready and having the stand looking just right, and all of your lovely comments made it so worth it.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came to my stand at the fair and I look forward to seeing you all at the next Christmas Craft Fair.
